I use Bromide tablets in my AC raw water strainers to cut down on Algea. I know Mike had problems in his waste management systemusing Tri Chlor, but I'm wondering about the AC strainers since you have a high volume of water passing thru them.

Tri Chlor, or Di Chlor is half the price of bromide tablets.

If it attacks the hoses you got a problem. I wouldn't do it.

It will attack the hoses.

Interestingly, even though I'm always in barnacle areas, I haven't had issues in my system (yet?). My pump is a high volume industrial unit and perhaps that is helping keep things clean.

Yeah, I have a tab feeder on my pool and the hose that feeds water in is some sort of special polymer that is "attack resistant."

Well, a few years ago it failed and I decided that rather than pay the pool store $20 for a 6" replacement (really!) I'd go buy a couple buck's worth of fabric-reinforced poly hose and replace it with that.

That "repair" lasted about two months. :)
