We just got a product for our galley from Boater's World called "the Trash Masher". It is a "manually operated" trash compactor. Before you laugh too hard....I know, you all have a manually operated trash compactor...your hand...but this gadget really works well. It is a small trash can with the compactor workings in the lid. We have 1/3rd the bags of trash we once did. And it is short, so it hides away under the overhang of the dinette. It is also nice looking, so my wife doesn't mind leaving it out in the galley. For $30, it really solves our trash problem. Check it out.
