Has anyone converted the canister for transmission filter to a spin on?
Tired of gasket leaks, if so what did you use. 892’s in a 52c.

Thanks

It is a remote filter, so not specific to transmission.

Just did mine. Very easy, mount wherever they are handy if like mine.

[h=1]Allison HT Transmission Filter Base, p/n 25010806-1[/h]$75 on ebay. Other places $125.

Filters are NAPA 1623 or WIX 51623.

For Allisons, I bought mine from the DD dealer. Its just an adapter that mounts to the canister base.

I used filter housing OB-1314 Hastings#, it has a 5# pressure relief valve, the same as the OE housing, about $45 and filter BT387-10 Fram you will use the stepped gasket/o ring.

Thanks for the reply’s.

Will use this to purchase what we need to make conversion.

I converted ours to spin ons, bought a kit on amazon I believe. The gears now use the same size filter as the mains, which makes it great when carrying spares. 1970 is the napa filter mine uses.

Engine oil pressure is 60 PSI, trans pressure as much as 150 PSI, the filter I suggested above, if my memory is worth anything, is good to 300 PSI. It's over kill for some, it's just right for me.

My thoughts.
