Transformers in generator compartment

Hello
What are the two large transformers for located in the generator compartment on a 53 MY. There just inboard of the battery boxes.

Those are isolation transformers. They keep your boat isolated from stray current from other boats. They also protect swimmers from stray current from your boat. And they can convert 120v input to 240v output. And with some modification can boost low voltage.

They are heavy, pricey, and a very nice addition to any boat.

Thanks for the quick reply. Just learning the boat. Getting ready to change the heads over to fresh water. Also refresh the interior.
