Hatteras Model
58' TRIPLE CABIN (1970 - 1976)
Seeing as how I have been appointed cruz director of the GuzCruzer, I thought I would start a thread on a point Carl made on another thread.

We're looking for a few good men (or women  ) who would be interested in a fishing trip to the Tortugas some time next month. No date has been set, but I think GuzBoy is ready for some more adventures. I'm always ready (for anything)!

This will be a "free" ride for any forum member who doesn't mind cleaning up after him/herself, knows how to handle boat chores, doesn't throw up, and remembers to feed the kitty! We all know what it costs to run these big Hatts. Just show up with your equipment, food, and beverage of your choice.

Post your thoughts here or give one of us a call. Even if we don't catch any fish, I guarantee a good time will be had by all.

Sounds fun I'm sure we'll get fish ;) We may be leaving between cold fronts and November is a bit windy but we'll have anchorage in the harbour by the fort It's a fun time I've done it many times there's even a light house out there ...November 10th Friday is good and there's no school here ...come back sunday late afternoon...

I'm sure I can make the 10th work, I'll just have to speed things up on my work schedule to make for some more free time.

Alright you guys, we have a tentative date set. Ya'll coming along or do you just want to read about it here on the 13th? :p

I can show probably show up if you tell me what date. I will bring my mate, since he can't go fishing on our boat.

Stop being so indecisive and set a date in stone. ::D

What did your mate friend do to not be alowed on your boat anymore?

If I cant get a trip on my boat then i may be in. when are you going and comming back, cant miss too much work days off are limited

YES you can make it we can leave Friday morning or afternoon and return Sunday late afternoon.. do you charter your boat?

That's a three day weekend for me...but, it sounds like your boat is pretty full now!

Sounds like a really fun time and I could have cooked for all of you! But it looks like Ed will be here in Miami during that time, so we'll probably just take Sanctuary over to No Name Harbor where we can use the seawall for access to the sides of the boat and varnish that little strip of teak and repair some rub rail. Maybe next time...

Hey we need like 8 people if posible the more the marrier ( less for the kitty )and last time we had 4 and the boat seemed empty also I think we may need to do the 16-19 weekend of November maybe better  Angela and friends are welcome we need a good cook : caues Randy don't cook much but he will drink your boose :(

Bill get your Tug boat ass down here and lets do some fishing ;) I know it's not a submarine and I don't swim with the fishes but I really think we'll have a good time you can ride down with Randy It's only a weekend come-on :D

Hey, hold me a spot? I can even help do maintenance and Miss Joy is an excellent cook, she is the Galley Slave on my boat. So we won't have to survive on vodka and Doritos the whole time. LOL

Cool Chris ..I meet you on the barge and your wife , so thats cool if you can go, I think the 17th weekend will be better ??? good with you???

Man, even with that CrazyBird playing a starring role (he regularly stars in my nightmares, now!) this trip sounds like too much fun. I think this kind of invite put out in so open a way is yet again testimony to what a great group this truly is. And Carl, once again you're the hospitality king.

I'm afraid I just looked at the calendar from now til eternity (well, at least through early Jan) and there's more ink than paper showing. I'm out. Too much playing, lately, between CDR, marina-hopping, FLIBS...I tell ya, this boating life takes DEDICATION! :D

Good luck catching, Carl & gang, but be really careful of the weather at that time, too. November can really howl, and that anchorage in front of Ft. Jefferson gives you enough protection from maybe 10 kt. winds IF they're coming from the right direction. Make that decision early as to whether it's Tortugas or Key West. You'd hate to be committed to Tortugas when it's really snotty. Seriously.

Hey guys, maybe Key West would be a better choice given the iffiness of November weather. Besides, if we don't catch any fish, there aren't any bars in the Tortugas!

It may be better for everybody if we move the date back a week to the 17th. What do ya'll think about that?

I am good after the 15th, I have to stay put until then, have a contract deadline to meet. How about Key West instead to make sure the weather doesn't get us. :D

Hey man thats fine ,Key west is cool as long as I can keep it from the wife ??? but we will have to by some fish if we don't get them live ...we'll see :D

Well, I am out if it is te 17th. The St. Petersburg boat show is that weeked.

Guys,
My little 32' won't make it to the Tortugas
in a weekend, but I would love to to crew
on a future trip. I'm a fishing fool and a pretty
good boat cleaner.
I'm located in Clearwater and make frequent runs
to Bradenton and Sarasota. Let me know when you
bring those big boats north.

Hey Mike, feel free to apply for this trip. If you can't make it, I'll give you a yell next time I'm in Palmetto and we'll hook up. You can clean FREEBIRD and then we'll go fishing on your 32'! :D

PM your number if you're interested!
