I'm with Markel through Charter Lakes.

We are with Markel through MTOA, good coverage at a reasonable (to me) rate.

I tried the Markel website....Of all the boats out there today they dont have a choice for Hatteras on their form. Not sure they want to cover it because of age. Did you have to call them personally to get a quote because of it being a Hatteras?

Tried a couple other big names and they did not want to cover damage. Just wanted to sell me liability.

Call John Horton at the Jack Martin agency near Annapolis. He wrote our Merkel policy through the MTOA. Ask him what the rate and coverage is with and without MTOA membership which costs $60 a year IIRC.
