Hello all, been a while;

I replaced throttle cables on lower/upper stations with Teleflex TFXtreme and I'm having a terrible time getting them adjusted. The two problems I'm having are lever position mismatch both at idle/wot and there is play in the lever before engines come off idle (seems to be about 1/2 inch of travel). I did the usual method (open injector pump wide open - adjust cable end to fit on lever) with each station seperate. Both upper and lower stations are experiencing the same problem as stated above. Note I do not have bends of more than 5 inches, the outer cable housing fits in it's capture ring and is secure and the outer cable itself does not move about when operating the levers. Engines are Cummins VT903 and the Morse Control is push to increase rpm. Also, Morse Control has no slop and operates smoothly with cables disconnected.

Any suggestions from the group?

Mike,
I had similar problems after replacing control cables. There are a number of screws inside the Morse control heads that hold the assemblies together, clamp cables and jackets to the control heads, adjust range of travel, drag, detents, etc. You can figure things out if you study them for a while. Anyway, a number of the assembly screws were a bit loose in mine, all of which combined to create more slack than I was comfortable with. Tightening things up at each control head solved my problems. Hope yours are as simple.

Hey Will,
Thanks for the point. Yep, that's what it was - after looking I discovered threaded holes, but no screws, that would limit travel for both wot and idle. After some trial and error we're good to go!

Thanks a bunch.
