  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
I just wanted to post on here and see if anyone is interested in a 53 because I am listing with a broker this week and in order to save us both a little $ I wanted to throw it out there. I am @ $295k for an amazing boat. Ask anyone who has seen her, worked on her or cruised on her... she is PRISTINE and unlike any other.

Glenn,
Boats in that condition are very rare and sell without a broker quite often as someone who knows the boat buys it or gets a friend involved. You should post specs and pics here and hold off on listing her for a while. You may be surprised at the response if you get the word out on your own.

Well, that was my intent by this thread. I have a few pics on my profile and would be glad to email more directly to anyone interested. I LOVE my boat, but my kids and my life steer me in a different direction at the present time. Sailboat Races 2009 233.webp

Glen:

Sky is providing you with good advice. My suggestion if for you set up an account (if you do not already have one) with UTube. You could upload some videos and pictures of the boat as well as a listing sheet which would cover the typical information that a prospective buyer would like to know including year, engine hours, hull # equipment etc.

I think it would be worth the effort to do this before listing. Also, the key is ease of viewing the boat. The best spot is one of the major yachting hubs in the east coast such as Annapolis or Ft. Lauderdale where it is easy for buyers to fly in and take a look at the yacht.

best of luck

Hi Glen,

Does Maggie May have stabilisers and/or a bow thruster? Also, with the lower helm removed, how removed is it from under the panelwork?

Looking at your images of how she looked when you bought her you have done a beautiful job.

Well Done.
