Finally worked my way to the last sanitary hose to be replaced. Had to cut a hole in the top loading cabinet next to the steps and then through the side wall behind it. A "picture frame" around the first cutout piece and it will look fine and be a permanent access.
Then with my cheek flat on the cabinet I could JUST feel my way to the through hull. Got the original vacuum hose off. Like the other vent hose it had a low spot in it. There was a brown schmoo outside of the low loop and it smelt EXACTLY like "the odor". The whole hose was sticky. Replaced with $50 worth of the good stuff. Don't know if the problem is now fixed, but this was definitely a contributing factor.
If it is still not fixed I'm going to low pressure test through the vents, and if either one is decidedly leaking it's going to get smoke tested. I have a theatrical smoke machine and a small shop vac on a dimmer....... That should be fun!
