  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
Will it looks like a white Christmas for us, Southeast Michigan. Maynard we have 10 inches of snow on the ground and 40/60 mph winds, 26 degrees. By Monday noon we are expected to have 16 inches or more on the ground. Out here in the country we have yet to see a snow plow. I'll wait till tomorrow to get out the tractor and do everybody's driveways. We have a new bridge in Toledo and they have 6 snow plows just dedicated to keeping the bridge open.
The only thing I can think that will be good about this, is the lake water level is going up. It starting out the same as the blizzard of 78. How much snow are you getting in Florida?:D You lucky dogs in Florida. I'll be there Friday soaking up some suds.:D Look out you guys in the north east. You got our last storm last week.

Bill

Only about 6 inches here in Lansing. Unfortunately, it will take alot more than that to make any difference in water levels.

But Bill, I am the really stupid one. I have a great Hatteras in Miami and I am in Detroit until 1/4. Yup, my back is sore from shovelling this mess and tommorrow promises 40 knot winds. Ah yes...the good of the lake level prevails.:)

Maynard,
You are only "semi stupid". Least you know where to keep your boat.

Winter is really blowing in here in Miami. It's not supposed to get out of the 60s tomorrow! Yeah, yeah...no sympathy, eh? LOL

But I've got wind like I've never seen - had to get the storm lines out because I just know the regular aft line is going to snap. It's tight like a violin string! My lasso skills are improving though. I lasso'd two lines into the wind around the piling and got both of them first try....I surprised myself! Whitecaps in the marina and water was splashing into my portlights. My cat is scared to death...huddled up in the companionway. Flannel jammies time...I don't have heat.

LOL...just saw the news where the weatherman said current wind is 15 mph...15 mph my ass!

Sorry, don't have the cite, but Lk Superior is supposed to have added about a trillion gallons of water and is up a few inches, although it was at a low ebb, so no seems to notice it is up a little.

Please Ang...just look at the photos of one of our members shoveling the snow off his deck. Now don't complain about wearing your bikini and adding an extra line. We have 40 knot winds here also. But our winds are blowing the snow around so badly that you can't feel your face. :)
