  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
48' MOTOR YACHT-Series I (1981 - 1984)
I just bought Delo 100 40 weight for the 92's and see the CF-2 classification is missing on the jugs.. It is simply CF now, but says it is recommended for 53's, 71's, and 92's. Would you use it? The web page which was updated last month still shows CF and CF-2.

Bob

If it says on the label that it's ok for the series engines, I'd use it without hesitation.

I seem to recall that the CF2 classification was being done away with anyway and something else was going to replace it - but I don't remember what the "new" classification letters or whatever that would be suitable for DD two strokes was going to be called. Maybe just "CF?" I assumed it would be some completely different "code."

But again, if it's on the label, IMO it's fine.

I'd agree with Mike. It might be a good idea to give Delo a call and ask.

Speaking of Delo, it s amazing how many mechanics still use Delo 400 in DDs

I heard today that there is a pretty good price on Detroit oil (1240D) from Jarrett Bay in quantity. Anyone close to them may be well advised to look into it. We know that it is exactly the correct oil to use for our engines.

Walt

p.s. between myself and a local friend, we will be picking up 200 gals from them.

Anyone from the Midwest going to Hatt Camp this Spring? I'd like to meet you somewhere and pick up some oil...

Walt I bought it there a month or two ago for 55 bucks a pail. What's it now? It's re-branded Mobil Delvac by the way.

Just an up-date. I contacted the tech guy at Delo and he could not answer. He promised to check with the formulaters. I've bugged him three times but no response. The CF oil is in the engine now and fingers are crossed. Since I rarely push the engine I'm hoping this oil is all right.

I just paid $78 a pail at DDA in CT.

Hi All,

I believe we're using Exxon XD-3.........any thoughts ?

XD3 is good oil. Exceeds the DD specs.
