  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
58' TRIPLE CABIN (1970 - 1976)
I Purchased The 58 Triple Cabin Yesterday After A Successful Inspection And Sea Trial On Friday/saturday. As With Any Old Boat, She Needs A Little Tlc. I'll Be Keeping Her In New Port Richey For Approximately 30 Days, Or The First Hurricaine Threat, Whichever Comes First. Before Returning Her To Tennessee For A Freshwater Diet, I Need Help With The Following: Cracked Glass In The Salon, Bow Cushions (missing), Eisenglass Or Strataglass For The Bridge, Brightwork, Buff Job, Engine And Bilge Paint, And Replacement Of Some Obnoxious Carpet. Can Anybody Point Me In The Right Direction For Any Or All Of This Work? I'll Be Cruising This Week Unless This Crappy Front Screws Things Up. I'll Be Happy To Take Suggestions On My Cell With Is 865/617-6212. Also, Anybody Have A Good 12-14 Rib For Sale?

Congratulations !! I too just closed on a 3sr58 around may 1st in New Orleans. She had sunk in 6 feet of fresh water post hurricane RITA due to a packing leak/battery failure. Shore power was off for 2 weeks and owners went on vacation!! I plan on launching late next week, doing some proving trials and then on to Mobile,Al. for a day or two to work out some bugs, I'm sure. After that its up the Tenn Tom for Chicago. Hopefully. I will have a crew of 3-4 ABS's for the trip. Call me if you would care to convoy ! See my post last week " camping in "
for some more details. Is your boat the one that was on EBAY last week with 0 bids?? That one looked pretty good-- I am envious. I have a long road to cruise, as mine needs ALOTLC  Feel free to call me anytime to exchange viewpoints. We have a nice trip planned out and sure would like company !!

Just returned from a fairly eventful shakedown cruise which included an 18 mph beaching on a "new" sandbar, a blown oil line on my starboard, followed by running out of fuel while limping in on my port engine via a faulty gauge! My generator ran dry as well, and I couldn't lower my dingy with the electric davit. Hello Towboat, goodbye $500 bucks! Are we having fun yet? I'm still in the de-bugging stage but hope to return to Tennessee in a couple of weeks. I would love some company for the Mobile to Tenn-Tom leg of your trip. I'll give you a buzz when I get all the details worked out. I didn't see the E-bay listing for the 58, but I don't think it was mine.
