Testing Coolant

Can anyone post how to check the amount of "charge" left in your coolant? I know there is a certain tool that is used and was wondering what that was and what correct levels were (does this change based on engine type)?

Go get the test strips from your local dealer for whatever coolant formulation you have in the engine.

They are DIFFERENT depending on the formulation you're using, and not interchangable.

Testing freeze point alone (which you can do with a cheap floating ball meter) is not sufficient for a diesel.
