Hatteras Model
46' CONVERTIBLE-Series I (1974 - 1981)
I have a 46ft 1975 SF, It is set up for a davit/crane that extends through the deck all the way down through the main statesroom's closet to the floor.

What type of davit/crane should I be looking for and where is my best bet on finding one?

As for a tender, I would like to use a small Boston Whaler, preferably something suitable for inshore fishing. What is the limitations for weight and length?

Go with a low profile davit and custom cradle from Boston Whaler. Weight Should not be a problem as even the smallest davit is good for 800 lbs or so. The cradle will spread out the weight so it should not matter if you decide on a Whaler or inflatable.

I have the old style overhead single point davit on my 42 and wish it was a low profile. I carry a 310 Avon RIB on my bow.

Turns out I found a nice Boston Whaler, 11 ft, I jumped on it.

Thanks for the advice on the davit. I plan to go the Ft Lauderdale show, I am sure I can find what I need but not so sure I want to pay the prices.

With all the wrecked boats out there you would think you could find a nice davit that needed a home.

I have been trying to find a low profile davit too, but have not had any luch yet. I only need one that can lift about 600lbs, so I dont need anything super expensive.
