i have 671n's in a 1968 41c and been chasing a temperture creep problem for a couple of years now.i got real close but never completly stopped it especially in the great south bay were water temps can be fairly warm due to shallow water. well last fall i noticed the dry exhaust sections were rusting pretty bad and the blankets were in rough shape i pulled the starboard exhaust and on inspection with a ball peen hammer found a real bad section put the hammer right thru it, 2000.00 later i had a brand new one, all s.s with a new blanket.over the winter i changed the port. ran the boat yesterday for 1.5 hrs and both held steady 170-175 finally. the new shower heads were designed quite different from the old ones. i didn't notice any blockedge in the old ones, only the new were completly different in design
hope this helps anyone with temperture creep i didnt take pictures not realizing this was the fix
