Teflon Packing Versus GTU Gore

Which one do you guys suggest for the standard shaft logs that Hatteras uses? One type is 3x the price of the other....I know I used Teflon previously but don't know if I should switch to the gore stuff.

I would go with the Gore tex it requires almost no maintenance with very minimul leakage.

Is the GTU Gore the stuff that will still do the job even if the water supply to the packing gland gets cut off from clogs ect?

I don't think it can be run completly dry but it requires very little water to run cool. I set it so it's just damp when running and dry when idle.
