Interesting that they didn't mention Marlow, quite a success story in themselves, both here and there.

Interesting video. The only way we can compete is to deliver the highest quality, most innovative products and designs into an increasingly competitive marketplace. Once the buyer is convinced they really NEED a new Hatteras or Bertram or Viking over everything else... We'll be fine.

The manufacturers have been so busy chasing the rich guy, they've forgotten the remaining middle class guy who can be "moved-up" over decades. Brand Loyalty. Brand Perception. Unquestionable Quality. Nobody is delivering boating's version of the "Beemer" or "Lexus" to the masses in this market.

The overseas product is still marginal in quality, and especially poor at design relating to "serviceability". Did you ever try to fix something on an Italian boat? You need to do $10,000 in damage to reach a broken pump!
