Hatteras Model
74' COCKPIT MY (1995 - 1999)
I was having problems with the systems monitor on my 43. It is a six point not a 12 point monitor. Steve at SAMS was very nice and offered to discount the one remaining new board that SAMS had. However, the price was still about $1,000 for the board. So, I called Flight Systems who had done the board on my other boat. They said they no longer repair the boards but if I would send them a picture, they would give it some thought. I did so and they said that they thought they could repair it. Not only did Flight Systems repair my board, they turned it around in one day after replacing all four relays on the board. Total cost --- $75. They could not have been easier to deal with. Great communication and the sales rep even drove my board to Fed Exp to get it to me overnight. No affiliation, just a happy customer.

Send them a tip.

Is yours like this one?

No. It does not look like yours. Mine was OEM on my 1996 43 Express.

Great outfit.
Have had multiple SMX controls repaired and also bought their new replacement SMX control.
Called them about fixing a board from a U-Line fridge that went bad, sent it and had it back in less than a week.
Wayyyyy cheaper than getting a new board that was also back ordered at the time.

They repaired my 12pt monitor board in 2004. Same great service as noted above. I sure hope they will actually keep doing this. What was the reason for not doing this anymore and what changed their minds?

They said that they were having a hard time finding the parts (presumably for the 12 point monitors). When I sent them a picture of my 6 point monitor, which is substantially less complicated, they said that they thought they could fix it.

That's not good for us 12pt folks. My son is getting his electrical engineering degree at Michigan Tech. If I have problems again, he might just have to build a replacement for me :). At least I'd get some return on my investment.

To tell you the truth, I am not certain exactly what the six point monitor is good for. There are a total of six lights. One each for port and starboard engine, one for AC, high water alarm, fire and something else I do not recall. If either light goes off for either engine, there is nothing to tell you what it is lighting for. I guess it is just a reminder to monitor your gauges, which I do anyway, even though they are electrical not mechanical.
