Can you eliminate a synchronizer when replacing throttle cables?

Sure but why would you want to? Just measure the distance between the attachment points on the synchro and order a single cable that's longer by roughly that same distance. Synchronizers are wonderful though, after having one I would never get rid of mine.

I got rid of mine when i repowered. Easy to synchronize by ear with engines that out loud enough to be a bother, with the Cummins though you can’t hear any difference…

I love mine...

Prior owner on mine disconnected it and moved the tach drives to the back of the engines. I bought an extension tube from Glendinning so the newer tach drives could go back to the synchronizer. Works good at the dock. He left throttle cables hooked up. I wouldn't get rid of mine as others have said. I would keep it even if you don't use it.

Up the StJohns river there are many bends, big/long and some tight.
Our 46 year ole, 32V Glendinning still works perfect.
With out it, the engines would never be in sync.
I would go crazy(er) with out it.

Two words digital tachs. I have Atena digital tachs and they are very accurate. Just set at same RPM and your good.

Which sensor are you using to signal the tach?

They are on the transmission pumps, in fact I got one from Acadian transmission.
