  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
Here are the fruits of my labor during the long winter up here. Decided to extend my swim platform, while keeping to the original design.

Did you add to the old one or build a complete new one?

That extra space is great!

New braces I imagine.

I love it that you made it look just like original. Nice work!!

I had some U-channels made up the depth of the new platform and installed them upside down on the existing brackets. I didn't want to disturb the brackets and existing through-bolts on the transom. The original brackets are very sturdy and don't seem to be bothered by the extensions.

Looks great, congratulations on a fine job.

Wow, very nice work. Just curious, what are the two brackets near the edge, aft of the ladder?

Those brackets are for the swim ladder.

Hi,

I need to do the same to take my new RIB but can anyone tell me the weight capacity of the original
swim platform? I need it to hold 600lbs plus? I have a 52CMY

Thank you

Barry

Thanks everybody for your reply I know I’ll pick at least one or two of those locations and start the ball rolling
