We are gettin new survey for insurance, 1967 34c.
Boat was pulled today and surveyor did his thing. he called when he had put it back in the water and docked it. made the comment that it was the nicest old hatteras he had ever seen. asked if he would consider it pristine, which he replied " it would be if bilge was painted." Turns out that is one of next projects. we did start that 2 years ago by cleaning and painting the area where ac compressor was removed, new one installed on freshly painted area and cleaning the bilge out. will take several good cleanings before i feel confident paint will stick. last guy painted with gray latex house paint, and did not clean it first. actualy this made it easier to remove old paint, hose pressure takes it off in sheets, it is 95 percent cleaned now.
Anyhow it was nice to hear a comment from a "professional".
