And people wonder why you want a SOLID hull?

Hmmmm.... I'd love to report all the damage done to my Hatt when I hit something really big and solid offshore (really, I did!) but unfortunately the only damage was a 1/4" deep by ~2" long and maybe 1/4-1/2" wide gouge in the keel!

It SOUNDED like a bomb went off below decks when it happened, but the repair, next time I hauled, took less than 30 minutes to rough up the edges with the grinder, mix up some filled epoxy, lay it in, then fair it before we put the new bottom paint on!

around this time last year we ran over a huge palm tree that was partially submerged at around 3:00am it sounded like a bomb and it stopped the engine dead cold. the only damage was a really, really bent prop. I bet any other less quality boat would have had it's running gear ripped out.

I hit a submerged tree last week with my new props. Didn't even get a chance to check them out. Sounded real bad. Only was 3 bent blades and $300. bucks. Hope to get them back on this week. Thanks for a big keel.
