  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
58' YACHT FISHERMAN (1970 - 1981)
Is there a diagram anywhere for the hoist strap locations on a 58YF? I have a graving plan document but it doesn't exactly translate to hoisting positions. Matt

even with the back salon wall works for my 58YF for the back strap.

They go under the boat.

But seriously I've seen yards try to lift them without using double straps. Not an good idea. Rear was at the shaft log and front was by galley front windows..

One should be even with the salon bulkhead on convertibles. Some owners' manuals will have a graving diagram and some of those will include instructions on where to place the lift slings. Also some boats will have the sling area marked- either a screw head or a little plate that says "sling" on it.

Look carefully at that graving diagram, mine shows the lifting strap locations on it, hard to see so we blew up the size on a good copier and made a few copies so I can give one to the travel lift driver.

Or a placard reading “END OF KEEL” located 3-1/2’ aft of salon bulkhead. We always haul on the bulkhead.

Once you do haul out And identify the exact location for future haul outs, install those little plastic plaques that say straps. It saves a lot of headaches and guess work.

Will do - thanks!
