Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
I have to put up with enought crap all day long at my job.....

I come to this site to get relief and talk boating..... A way to unwind...

There are plenty of sites to complain about Obama and McCain.....

I stopped reading the replies to the other threads about politics a long time ago nor will check them out.

Just my little opinion... This says Hatteras owners forum... Not CNN or Fox..

Phew, I feel better now.... And will now go sit in the cockpit for a while...

If you don't want to read about it, then don't read it!

Sounds like you solved the problem LOL

Yeah, at least I know their strong points. My votes for Imron! Is he a repub or dem?

I like Sterling, it is an independent. What oil do you use in a Detroit anyway?

well said Jax.....the hard working people need the rest...not the bs.

This is the sandbar. The open forum provided by our hosts for our discussion of other subjects.

No one is forced to read or reply. Are they?

I know, Opinions are like ... and everyone has one.
With opinions, the important distinction is whose opinion am I listening to. Who would I respect? While i_net posts are not generally identified by name, here one has at least a pretty good idea about the author.

I tend to respect people and the opinions of people with technical knowledge and common sense regarding boats ... although I do rember a commercial boat captain I worked with and repsected who adamantly assured me that the American people would never really elect LBJ.

Posts are segregated by topic and identified by title before you have to choose to read them. I have found both the nautical and political posts here to be well worthwhile and hope to opportunity to review them continues. However, with the last vote, like Jaxfish, I too wanted to "stop the politics" Going down to the boat and having a drink, rather than reading about politics was particularly more appealing.

And by the way, I'd like to express my appreciation to Genesis for his good work in regard to politics, economics and the expression of his thoughts.

I started this thread with a big smile.
I enjoy reading everything in all the threads and just wanted to keep things going. :)
Heck, I agree with Boatsb 100%...
This is "General Discussion/everything" else section......
Just trying to lighten things up.... Must be the "freebird" in me....

I find it quite insightfull to hear the opinions of people from all over the country. Glad it is not nessasary to drive the boat to this sandbar.

All I want to see is a pic of that 43's cockpit...:)

MY or Convetible. Wait, I think we already had that debate.

I thought in the Imron scandal, the CEO went to jail? Maybe he and OJ will paint a few cars in the body shop together? Maybe Awlgrip?

As much as I am put off by many of the posts in the Sandbar, the fact remains that we created this area for exactly this sort of thing: posts on topics that would not be acceptable in the main areas of the Forum. You have the option not to look if you don't like what folks are saying. Much of it IS drivel, but those of you who know me also know that I am a strong supporter of freedom of expression. Even when what's freely expressed makes roll my eyes in despair...(roll eyes)

Well to drivel I say bring it on. I have known a lot of drivel in my life and it is everywhere. Most (all?) out of the current Congress is drivel. How can one know drivel when they see it, unless you are exposed to it I say. To build an immunity to it, one must exposed to it!

You forgot to mention all the folks that are rolling they're eyes in despair when they read some of the drivel you write.

Times have changed...or have they sparkybird?!

I will second the kudos for Genesis. I have learned alot about this whole stinking mess from Karl on line and on the phone.

Some of it looks/sounds very familiar, but for the most part, Hatteras owners are real people too. :)

I too learned a lot by looking at some of Karl's work never having realized until recently that he wasn't just another boat junkie. Politics is just a part of life, especially during an election year where we have no choice but to make political history. God help us.
