  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
41' CONVERTBLE-Series II (1986 - 1991)
Looking for a new stereo system.
The head unit/receiver will be in the salon.
Must have a remote for the bridge and bluetooth.
I currently have a Clarion (vintage 2005) that has worked pretty well.
The remote display died and the radio does not have bluetooth capability.
Thank you in advance. - TJ

I've been installing systems that interface with the newer electronics. It's a no brainer for most. The amps and brains can be in various less vulnerable locations.

What are you looking for in performance?

I recommend fusion components. Waterproof. Remote station capable. Nmea interfacing. WiFi capable. Pretty good stuff! Also can control via phone app

Fusion. Definitely best I've found. Tried Alpine and Kenwood. Go the 7" speakers and add a sub. Interfaces with iPhone etc. Can also work with some of the more recent nav screens

I sell more fusion than JL lately. I think its because of the needs of the customers are better met. JL is what the loud crowd wants. If power and cool lights are 6our thing go for it. Fusion has it too but seems to better integrate with nav systems.

As to locations of mounting the units they both are weatherized, both have remotes and can both be set up with multiple zones. still put in the fusion DVD units but that's getting less and less.

Speaker size is determined by space and existing holes. Power amps are often used but rarely DIY installed properly.
