Hatteras Model
40' DOUBLE CABIN-Series I (1986 - 1989)
1988 40" MY.

Steps need refinishing. Has anyone used starboard to replace? I do not want to keep doing the teak.

I can paint what I have but I cut a piece of starboard that I had and mounted it. To me it looks good.

Any reason not to use this material?

Thinking of using 3/4" material. Has color that is close enough to Hatt white that I would just use as is and leave it alone.

Very common replacement for the teak. I believe SAMs may have starboard replacement steps.

Hi All,

RR, do you have any plans for the teak steps you're replacing ? ;)

I had a local wood shop do this on a previous boat. They routed the edges and grooves for a better nonskid step. They worked well and replace the last exterior teak on the boat. There is a starboard with nonskid finish now. Search nonskid starboard.
