  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model

Anyone use this stuff on their painted hull? was recommended at the detailing supply store and I already have a bottle of it, first spring prepping my Hatteras.

I have heard it's great on fiberglass. I have no idea how it is on awlgrip or imron. Your boat was painted with one of them.

I know both manufacturers have a product to maintain their paints. I'm not sure if the star Brite is compatability or if it will cause the paint to have issues later.

Scott, it says safe for paint on the bottle, it was fantastic on my old gel coat donzi

Imron and awlgrip are not regular paint.

Check the label to see if it contains any silicone. If it does and you use it, re-paint or touch up in the future will be a whole lot more problem. I use Awlcare on my Awlgrip job.

I have used Yacht Brite Pro Polish on BUFFALO GAL for the past five years. First we do a thorough cleaning with Collinite 920. It's very gentle, so does not remove any of the paint. After cleaning I apply one coat of Pro Polish. More than one coat adds nothing. It looks great and lasts almost a year here in the Florida sun.

I wound up using awlcare as a recommendation from the guys at fred chall marine supply. The hull came out great! Applied by hand, unfortunately, someone used a wheel in the boat at some point, and those marks didn't come out.
