The existing wood is in good enough condition (exception being the hatch cover in the bow) to recondition (OK, the admiral told me she likes the wood so I lose that battle).![]()
Will remove, sand and varnish all of that, which will leave the inside open to redo, be it the rino or grizzly type of paint/spray.
I just finished the fighting chair, I used the Bristol Finish and it is easy to work with. I put 8 coats on and it came out great. You sand smooth after the 8th coat and apply a final coat for the glass look. It says it will last 36-48 months before a recoat is needed!
Now I am back on the Whaler. I pulled the seats, hatch and braces. I sanded them and I have the same hatch problem. I am going flip it over and try to use the underside. It is amazing how much effort you can put in to a 13' boat.
