Ritz Camera, Boater's World's parent company has filed Chapter 11. Use those holiday gift cards now. Hopefully, they'll be able to turn things around, but it doesn't seem to be looking too good.

So what's left after Boater's World goes down, if they do? West Marine, Jamestown, or local chandlery of your choice...or Sams Marine!. Too bad if they go, as they have been nice people to deal with!

There is a Boaters World in Knoxville which has to be hurting for sure. They had only been in business for a year or two, as I recall, when West came in with a larger store which is literally across the street.

Let's face it, the Vol Navy is pretty big, but I don't know how both those stores have survived in a relatively small market. Maybe I'll run by there this weekend and see if they're having any super deals on anything.
