  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
58' YACHT FISHERMAN (1970 - 1981)
Well, the 34 Sedan is gone again. She was purchased by a nice couple that found out about the boat through word of mouth. Yaisy and I passed by the boat yard that they are useing and got to see her bottom being sanded! coulden't beleve the condition that the hull gelcoat was in after 44 years. I found only 3 blisters the size of a dime! I guess the former owner Mr. Parsons saved the bottom by hauling her out every winter. The new owners plan on repainting the hull and topsides and redue her interior.

Now THAT is one lucky boat!!!

Happy days are here again and again and again and again.

CONGRATS!!! Now THAT is how to flip a boat! What was that, less than a month? That must be some sort of record. Maybe you can offer some tips to those who have been trying to sell their Hatts for years now with no luck!

I am so pleased that you have found her a good home, and so quickly at that. You have certainly gone out of your way to buy your old boat back simply to help find it a better home. You have done your good deed for a Classic Hatt and the Hatteras Gods are shining down on you and your 58YF.
ENJOY!!!

Now you just have to make sure that they join this forum so they can continue to get help in maintaining their Hatt and joining a great community.

Good job Mario. I'm pleased to hear that she has a good home.

Congrats Mario, but I'm a bit confused. I thought you bought the boat back for sentimental reasons as per your "crazy/ironic" thread. Hopefully you made a buck or two or at least broke even. Otherwise, I'm changing my vote. :)

If you get them to join this forum, just warn them that Randy and Krush are NOT the norm..... :}

Thanks guys. a bit of luck and a low ball offer is what it took. We came out ok $ wise but there wasn't a whole lot of money involved anyway. what we really wanted was a good home for our old 34 which treated us real good while we had her. I'll take some picks tomorrow of her being redone in the yard.

the folks that bought her are a young family with small kids around my boys ages. Yaisy was happy it sold to them and so am I. Yes I did buy her back for sentimental reasons. I also sold her to a good family for the same reasons. That 34 has been nothing but a pleasure since SeaEric sold her to me and while I preped her for our voyage down the ICW from Maryland. and not to mention all of the fun times we had on her.

funny how things work out.

Mario

I love reading about happy endings! Sounds like this family will get the chance to make many fond memories, just like you, Yaisy and the boys did!

Cheers, Laurie & Jim (Someday our "ship" will come in...and I better not be at the airport when it does!!!) ;)
