  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
40' DOUBLE CABIN-Series I (1986 - 1989)
About a week ago I sold my boat to a gentleman from Florida. The only reason for the sale was my failing vision. I could not read the instra ments on the dash for the last 2 years. Iwas hoping my vision would improve, but it only gets worse. Iw ill miss cruising the Chesapeake very much but all good things come to an end. For the last 15 years she has enlightened my life. I hope the new owners enjoys the same. I want to thank Sam's for this wonderful website and all the great guys who participate. You all have enlightened me and heped me with so many problems over the yearsSo now I say good luck and good boating to all my Sams friends.

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure she will be loved in her new home.

Best of luck to you. I guess we're all going to walk your road one day. Sad for you and us, but glad for you and us that we had the chances we did.

So much for one of the happiest days.

Sorry that you're in that situation, hopefully things will turn around for you. And nothing says you need to leave the forum. We'd miss your company.

So so sorry. The memories will last the rest of your life.

Best of luck to you Ron! I personally thank you for your input and communications to me as we had the same boat.

Thanks for all your good wishes. You're right about all the memories. I can still remember the day I bought my first inboard back in 1966.

Hi Ron,

I hope you still will visit the HOF and provide us with advice. Not to many of us 40 DC owners around anymore.

Where in Florida is your boat going to?

Cheers,

Mark

I haven't visited the forum much this year because it's a real chore to see and use the keyboard. I hold a magnifying glass in one hand and type with the other, many mistakes.
The boats new home is in Clearwater.

My mother in her late 70's had eye surgery and for the first time in here life could see without glasses. There's progress in decade. Maybe you wil find a cure. There's always hope.

There are sittings on the computer for visually impaired that increase the size of all the text and emphasis important buttons.

Thanks Krush, I'm using those settings.
