Skipper Electronics In Business??

Does anyone know where the company Skipper or Skippers electronics has gone? They use to have a nice catalogue, review marine electronics, and repair/calibrate sounders ect. I can't find them on the web.

I remember those catalogs, but I don't think I've seen one in 10 years. They're probably another West Marine takeover.

As if understand, Skipper Marine went out of business 7-9 years ago following the death of its founder. The widow no longer wanted to continue the business and apparently none of the employees wanted to invest to keep it going. It is a great loss as I totally outfitted two boats myself and inconjunction with boating buddies another 3. My 32' Hatt has all electronics from Skipper. Located in Northbrook, Il you could send them a piece of equipment, have repaired, tested and returned in 3-4- days with an understandable explanation of what was done and at a fair price. Still looking for a comparable company offering the same quality/price services.
