That's not a good day. Looks like they got everyone off safe though.

Is the red boat one of the ones in wicked tuna?

I know those guys are around there but can not make out the name on the boat. I do not know.

Such a shame.

It's fishing frenzy. You can see the name quickly in the beginning

Also quick shot of a blue hull looked like it could be Hot tuna.

Well, that sucks. Everyone was off the boat, I assume. How close were they to the inlet, I could not tell from the photos. They'll have to raise her to get her out of the channel?

Evidentely the inlet is open now i have no knowledge. The guys come out of the inlet and head ESE
for the point. It is nasty there currents from all directions. All kinds of junk in the water but that is where the tuna are. Bite is usually early so that means a early day start before lite. It just is not worth the problems that come with that fish not to speak of the cold water.

Looks like a custom boat, a Cannady, from what I could find. Interestingly, I think there is a 67 JB by the same name with same spelling, recently built.

There is it was featured by the bite Magazine it is owned by Lonie Pool wast industries from Raleigh. Good guys and are good fishermen. Google WAST KNOT

It is a Cannady so i heard

Cold mold?

I think they hole easier than old hatts plus the probably scoot at 2x the speed.

Is that the fat guy with the dreads?

YesTj and it was him so this will most likely be on Wicked Tuna we can watch it again and cry some more.

That sucks just glad no one hurt!

Waste Knot washed up onto the beach near Avon. Wouldn't surprise me if its fixed up and running charters by July.

July of what year?

You mean it was floating around out there for the last couple days?

This year. Most of the charter boat finish BC Boats were built in 4 or 5 months. Strip it out, fix the bottom, build a new house and bridge or get one out of the mold from Spencer, buy a rebuilt or used 1000hp mechanical 3412, rewire, build 2 new benches and a counter in the cabin, new Sears freezer, go fishing.

Getting off the beach. Rudders cut right thru, surprised to see the prop still there. Not sure if there's any other bottom holing. Heard some the frames in the ER are cracked/broken, probably from rolling in the surf. They removed the engine and fuel before starting the moving process.wasteknotlift.webpwasteknotrudderhole.webp

this boat appears to be single engine with dual rudders.

is that a common set up with these boats used in the charter industry?

Yes. Not many pure single engine "charter" boats being built anymore in the Carolina's unless it's an owner operator building one for himself. The last plank on frame builders in Wanchese have switched to jig boats, there's a few left building stick boats in the Morehead area.
