  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
36' CONVERTIBLE-Series II (1983 - 1987)
Hello all, I am repowering my 1985 36C and while it is down for the winter decided to do some renovations. Has anyone changed the existing metal framed shower door with a frameless glass shower door? Can anyone recommend the best type of glass to use ie: acrylic or plexiglass? Also, has anyone found a good source for shower door hardware ie: hinges and door latches?

Thank you in advance for any constructive advice.

A friend did all three doors. He went to his local shower door/ glass company. He gave them the exact measurements and they came out beautiful. He used safety glass.

I want to replace the forward head shower door on my 43DC but it needs to be water proof.

Has anyone replaced one of that type?

Let me know what you come up with. I have a curtain and I would prefer a door.

I replaced the door on my shower in the fwd head with a glass bi-fold that I found on ebay. The bi-fold makes so much more room in there without that swinging door. It was a NOS Bertram door, powder coated off-white. It matches the laminate color in the head perfectly.

It was slightly larger than the old door so required a little cutting to get it in.

I removed my original one because it was leaking on the bottom, and the way the frame was assembled, I couldn't get it off unharmed.

Some screws sort of from the inside out on were corroded and while it was overall in decent shape, I don't believe it is salvageable.

I cleaned up the opening and coated it with west system, filled in the holes, etc.

I have a shower curtain in there now while I figure out what to replace it with.

It looks like there are Paragon doors that could work, mine needs to be sealed at the bottom when closed or it will leak because of how the shower is.

This is what I am thinking could replace it:
