  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
Russ and I have a 79 Hatteras 43'. In the forward head, the shower curtain is hung from a bent metal rail attached to the ceiling with a plastic inch long flat rectangle that has a round head that I assume goes in the metal track of the rail at the ceiling. My question is: Do I need a special shower curtain and where do I get it? I was hoping I would be able to use one that I really like from Bed, Bath and Beyond but I don't know how to attach it to the plastic rectangle thingy. I went to an RV place and they only had plain plastic curtains...

You can use any shower curtain you like go to sailrite.com and they have the curtain tabs you are looking for.

Once you get the tabs from sailrite I believe you'll have to sew them on your new curtain.

Sailrite also has a different rail that looks like an "I" beam. For that rail the have little rollers with rings on them. The one you have will be the easier way, but as suggested you will have to attached the plastic slides somehow.

You can use a standard sewing machine to attach the hanging tabs to your shower curtain.
I had new salon curtains made and the seamstress removed the hanging plastic tabs from the old curtains and sewed them to the new ones.

measure your curtain before buying a new one and sewing the tabs to it. the curtain in the fwd shower of my 58yf was longer than the standard shower curtain. i dont mean height, i'm talking about from one wall around the track back to the other wall. i ordered mine online from a shower curtain site that offered longer than standard curtains. i think mine was 108 inches

Thank you, everyone! Fair winds and following seas and best regards from the admiral.
