Anyone on here install shaft tubes? If so, how were the gains and any advice?
TIA

Are you asking about a sheathing tube around the external propeller shaft?
May I be blunt, quick and really still help full?

Don't even think about adding this on your boat. There are no gains and all headache.

Have had full length shaft tubes for about 10 years.
Do think we get a little stern lift from them.
Best part is we seam to have less issues when running over floating busted off pot lines etc.
But, there're a pain in the ass because we have to pull the shafts to change cutlass bearings.
We're actually trying to decide to remove or not over the winter right now.
Would just keep the tubes from the hull down to the intermediate strut if we make the change.

Anyone familiar with the system that FLEMMING YACHTS uses ? A SEATORQUE system ? A CV joint between the transmission and shaft , an a enclosed oil filled shaft tube to the prop ?

Thanks for the advice, we just installed new cutlass bearings and figured 10 years before shaft tubes would pose an issue here.

For curiosity's sake, what material did you make the tubes from and weld with?

Tubes are fiberglass.
