Does anyone know if you need to follow the shaft alignment procedure if you replace the hose between the stuffing box and the shaft packing gland? Currently the alignment is fine but I do not know if it will change after replacing that hose. Thank you in advance for your assistance. (36C Series II)

You don't have to do it. Mark the shaft and both engine and shaft flanges to line up the keyways before removing. Afterwards wire brush the flanges but don't obliterate the marks.

Then, as you re-assemble,you really are all ready to check alignment and might as well, just to save work in the future. Some engine mounts do drift off over time.

If you are thinking of dripless shaft seals, now is the time. If using the Tidesmarine replacable seals, add on two replacement seals in their plastic carrier.

Thanks for the info. I was not planning on going to drippless. I change the shaft packing every two years and don't ever seem to have any problems. I had considered marking the flanges of the shaft collar so that they went back together in the same orientation. Thank you again for your assistance.
