Selling Prices '70's 38DC

Guys:

I am trying to help my brother get a DC he is looking at Carvers etc. I have found a gorgeous 38DC in freshwater. Can anybody give me an idea of the selling prices for a nice 38DC 1974? They are asking $79. Sea Eric? Thanks.

I would say it's worth half that.

1. She's gas. Ethanol issue with FG tanks.
2. The Chris Craft 427 gas engines she has are dinosaurs.
3. She's old enough to be tough to finance.
4. That style of boat generally wants some type of covering, preferably a hard top, over the aft deck.
5. Twin berths aft.
6. You can likely buy a 1989+ 40 Hatt DC with Cat diesels for not much more $- has the hardtop and a centerline berth aft.

I have one in Lake Erie Have owned it for 25 + yrs Have J&T 6-71s Love it. Built like a Tank. Good article in boat US magazine, can get it on line.
