Anyone know where I can get "raw" GPS data for marks, lights, etc?

I found a few "master" databases, and some documents, typically PDF's, that abstract the data, but want to play with the raw data a bit in some mapping apps.

Thanks,

-Ed

Maptech GPS charts. I used them on our ICW trip.

The Coast Guard publishes "Light Lists" covering different sections of the country. The light list has all aids to navigation along with their lat/long, color, flashing characteristics etc. This link will take you to the USCG web site that has all the info on the light lists.

Yea, that's the list that leads to the PDF's I mentioned. I'm trying to find a list in text or CSV format for import into another program.

Thanks,

Can the data be exported?

The offical government data is available in the S-57 mapping charts using a chart viewer. You can find this at noaa.gov, click on "charting and navigation", then "electronic navigation charts" or with this link:

http://chartmaker.ncd.noaa.gov/MCD/enc/index.htm

You will have to download the chart for the area you are interested in and download one of the free chart viewers. Start the chart viewer and just click on the navaid and all the USCG data is available, in its most current form.

It's all free too!

Holy Cow, I spent all day with your link to NOAA, Great stuff, thanks :D
