  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' EXTENDED DECKHOUSE (1983 - 1988)
Looking for a bareboat charter for a week or so in the Seattle area next spring. Has anyone advice to offer re: finding a reputable charter outfit?

Thanks!

In Seattle metro area proper? Can't help you there, the big charter fleets are up in Anacortes and Bellingham. I have had excellent experience with Northwest Explorations in Bellingham (Grand Banks), and I know folks who have had similar experiences with Anacortes Yacht Charters (various brands). The San Juans / Vancouver Island (Victoria-Sydney) and Gulf Islands are marvelous.

Boating in and around Seattle is fun, but involves more marina hopping and less gunkholing. The first boat we owned was a 32 ft Tollycraft that we kept on Lake Union when we lived there in the late 70's.

Thanks very much this is helpful- will start checking it out. Appreciate your response.

Try ABC Yacht Charters in Anacortes, have used them in the past with excellent results. Check out their web site for a list of their boats. Anacortes is a great starting point for the San Juan islands. Have a 68' Defever (steel hull / twin 671n's) there if you are interested. She is under going a refit and will be ready in the Spring.

Bill, it's getting there, top deck is done, working on the main deck and lots of grinding, epoxy filling and painting. My welding looks like a low flying segal hit....its been a few years. God willing, she'll be ready in the spring. You and your better half should come to the NW next year, we'll take her on a cruise through the San Juan Islands. By the way John Wayne's old boat the Norwester is in the same harbor as ours, she is a great wood boat to behold. cheers...mike
