Seeking Captain

A good friend is closing on a late model 57 Carver this week. Has decided NOT to cruise down middle America to the Gulf. Seeking experienced (for insurance) Great Lakes Captain to run from Spring Brook Marina in Seneca IL, up to Chicago. Then Lake Michigan around Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake St. Claire, Lake Erie, and the Welland to Lake Ontario to Oswego to Barge Canal and the Hudson, then south to the ditch.
Owner wife and crew NOT in a hurry. Prefers 6-8 hours running per day with stops at only the coolest towns and nicest marinas along the way. Departing the Chicago area no later than Sept 10.

AFAIK the canal is closing a month early this Fall. Plan dates and travel itinerary carefully.
