Seaward Princess broiler replacement

The broiler in our stove went bad.. I'm ready to replace it as the new one came in today.... Can I replace it from the front or do I have to remove the stove to replace it.. I see two screws inside the oven but both screw heads are shot and no way I can simply back them out.....

So I got the old element out (it fought me but lost), install the new one and........ Still doesn't heat up... (but hey, the indicator light now comes on).....

Did you end up pulling it out? I changed mine several years ago and if I recall correctly there are several connections on the rear of the oven. Check voltage and grounds
