Pulled boat for muffler fo muffler repair and noted both stabilizers were positoned with the forward part of the fin angled out about 15 degrees. It seems like that might slow the boat down and prevent her from planing ( which a current problem). Has anyone on the forum noted the position of the stabs to be like this?

Try contacting Seabrace.

Upgrade those with the system that Mark Giovanniello came up with. It is PLC based and is a huge improvement over the original.

He is a former Hatteras owner and a great guy. Call him. He knows these stabs.

Isn't there a CENTER position on your off and on button?

My NAIADs have the center position, but once the engine power is off, the fins are free to flop around unless you physically pin them to straight. Fins should be towed a bit to stop chatter much like an automobile's front wheels.

I have had Seabrace for 14 years and they work great. They should be positioned straight ahead.

Contact Danny Becker at 9544949503.

Danny worked for Seabrace and installed many of the systems on our boat. He is the only person I would call.

I have replaced my gyro. I have an extra set of fins are in average condition if anybody needs one. I would be very interested in the parts of anybody replaces their Seabrace 's.

The panel controls read on (up position) or gyro (down position). I will check but don't think there is a mid position. I can manually turn the fins to the straight position. The chain appears to lock up at the extreme 10 to 15 degrees positions. I think this might be a normal amount of "play" and wondered if anyone else concurred before I go investing a lot of money.
Thanks for the contact number for Danny. In reviewing the forum his name has been mentioned several times. I just didn't want to impose on anyone if this is a non issue.

I have tried multiple times to phone Danny Becker at 954-494-9503 phone answers that he is not accepting calls ( this is over the last 2 months). Does anybody have another phone number or anyone else who is knowledgeable? I do not want to upgrade if there is a simple repair. The manual indicates that if both stabilizers are doing the same thing it is most likely the gyro, but when moving the gyro lights appear to be coming on but I don't think the stabilizers are actually moving. Any suggestions?

Update: Thanks to tomrealest who put me in touch with Danny Becker who is no doubt the "Seabrace stabilizer guy" to go to. Danny spent considerable time using the phone and multiple pictures to walk me through repairing my stabilizers. He was able to diagnose that the shafts had slipped outward about 15 deg. And walked me through the repair...the fins are now slightly towed out and I will test this weekend to see if boat will now come up and on plane. Once again I am indebted to the fantastically helpful members on this forum.
