Hatteras Model
32' FLYBRIDGE FISHERMAN (1983 - 1987)
I need new ones. Not just the flapper but the entire fiberglass insert that was original to the 1985 32FB. Its like a fiberglass housing then a flapper/scupper made of rubber or something. Is there anything newer or better out there as well? I need to reduce the amount of water coming in the boat on those rougher striper drifting trips.

Would a new flex flap solve most of your problem? I have seen some with a length of metal across the bottom, likely for weight to help keep it closed. Or you might make a flex hinge from flex material and fasten to a metal flap...And or small weight at the exterior(stern) side of any flap would serve as a lever to apply closing pressure when bow is up underway...

I think Sams has the flapper material. I think it's the same stuff as what they sold me for the cover strip on the bottom of my PH doors. I had a little left over as they sell it by the foot and I didn't have any measurements at the time and ordered a little heavy. I'll try to dig it out and measure the remaining amount. If anybody needs it, you just pay the freight.
