Scupper drains

I have a 79 43' DC with drains on each side deck just forward of the plexi doors. They drain out via thru hulls located just above the waterline. My problem is the extrusion on the scupper has totaly rotted away leaving an exterior deck ring with no connection to the drain hose. The end result is I am leaking water down the outside of the drain hose into my aft stateroom. I can tell that the scupper was originally manufactured by Perko. Perko no longer manufactures this size scupper with a straight extrusion. They do have one where the extrusion is at a 45 degree angle but I need a straight one to fit inside the drain hose. Any suggestions. Dimensions are:

OD of deck ring is 3 1/4"
ID of extrusion is 1 3/4"
ID of drain hose is 1 1/2"

Buy the available drain with the 45deg extrusion, cut out the 45deg, put it back together using some rubber hose and hose clamps. WOuldn't that work OK?

When I re-did the back deck on my Roamer, I increased the OEM 1" drains to 1-1/2" with stainless steel sink drains (!) from the Homo, complete with a basket strainer in case the old lady's diamond ring goes sliding while she's puttting on hand lotion. LOL.
Seriously, the baskets will catch leaves and debris so they dont plug up. Cheap? Yup! But as Mies Van Der Roe said... "form follows function."
They are also $4.95 versus $49.95 ws

Leave it to a Chicago guy to know Mies van der Rohe. Unfortunately, on boats -more often than not- form overcomes function!
