  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
I figured I'd start a new thread to make it cleaner to read, so here's the deal:

I have reserved 10 slips at the Tower Park Marina for arrival on October 10 departing on the 12th for $10/night. When you arrive, you can go to the main desk and register your boat and pay your fee. The reservation will be under my name: Tim Methenitis You can arrive anytime Friday or Saturday.

For those of you familiar with the marina, we'll have the entire inside dock that is parallel to the waterway in front of the restaurant. It can be a bit tricky getting inside if the wind is up and the current is running, but I'm sure all of you are great skippers and won't have a problem. Hint: arrive at slack tide.

If you go to www.towerparkresort.com you will find a link on their web page labeled Marina Info. Clicking on that will bring up a resort map. Click on the link for the printable version. You'll notice at the top of the page a logo for West Coast Canvas, to the left of that Tower Park Boat Sales and then Sunset Bar and Grill. There is an arrow pointing towards the store. That area in the back along the line where the store is referenced is where we will tie up, stern to.

Plan on setting fenders on both sides, gunwale height, lines fore/aft and midship. A transom fender is a good idea too.

There is a men’s and women’s restroom and showers just up the ramp from where we will dock.

Power is generally lousy there; single 30 amp circuits.

I'll plan on getting up there late Friday afternoon for those that want to come in that day and help guide you in.

I still don't have any food or entertainment arrangements but I figure a bunch of Hatteras owners can find something to do??!! And, as I mentioned earlier, we can eat off the menu if the caterer lady never calls me back.

So here is the synopsis:

Although I will drive over, I plan on rigging fenders on my car to stay in the nautical spirit.

FYI, I learned from the Tower Park Event page that we are coinciding with the California Bluegrass Festival Campout:

http://www.cbaontheweb.org/cba_news.asp?newsid=3488

Unless I am mistaken, we are in front of a building with says "SeaRay" in letters visible from space :)

Dan,

You are correct, sort of. We'll actually be all along that inside dock. We'll start filling in starting at the far left side from the opening moving up at the top of the Google picture. building. We will be immediately in front of the restaurant but I did reserve that entire section of dock.

The bluegrass festival is sponsored by the KOA campground folks who now run the resort. I haven't been able to find out if it is open to us non KOA members.

Tim or Chris,

Got a head count or update?

Dan,

I have the following:

Jim Wagner - hatterasboatguy - not coming
Chris Hansen - Buccaneer - coming late Saturday afternoon
Scott Foote - Footeloose - coming late Saturday afternoon

and, you and me. Wasn't sure when you are coming?

Since this is such a small turnout, I decided to forgo anything formal for entertainment or dinner.

I also had something come up for first thing in the morning so will probably not get down to the docking spot until after lunch.

Tim

Bummer on the small numbers.
I'm planning to be there Friday late in the day.
I'm also going to start littering on he other Hatts in the marinas near me here. Perhaps they haven't heard?

It is Fleet Week that weekend. It that an issue too?

Folks,

Received an email today from Scott Foote who had a great suggestion. Instead of going to Tower Park, how about if we meet him at Grindstone Joe's?

This site is just down Little Potato Slough from the TP marina. Cost is $40/night, great power, great scenery. Scott suggested that we could BBQ for dinner that night. I suggested everyone would bring their own meat and each of us could bring a side dish.

Let me know if that sounds good to everyone and I'll cancel the reservations at the marina.

Link to the map is: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&msid=100621284894036339209.000456e6a79b8faa06a56

Still only 4 boats?

I think it's only 3.

I need confirmation from you Chris if you want to go to Grindstones or Tower?

Please call me: 408-497-4763 or email me direct at: iamgreek@comcast.net

Folks,

Due to a development with a member of my wife's family, I think I am going to have to bail out for this weekends outing.

I haven't heard whether the preference is Tower Park or Grindstones so my plan is to cancel the Tower reservation and if others decide to proceed on to Grindstones, they can make arrangements with Scott Foote directly.

I hope that we can do something in the spring and just think, maybe fuel costs will have gone down by then too.

Tim

OK, the world is conspiring against us.

I *just* got notice that my ex-wife has to be out of town this weekend on a State bond deal, and I have the children - with soccer committments.

So, I'm not going to be there either.

It looks like we're OFF CALENDAR for this event.

That being said, I still want to set something up.
Timm and I will coordinate - off line - and let ya'll know what we come up with.

There'll be plenty of advance notice.

It sounds like fun. The Last Resort will not be able to attend, but please have another rendezous.
