  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
58' YACHT FISHERMAN (1970 - 1981)
Our boat is in South Florida and our home is on the Chesapeake. Thursday & Friday we will be in San Diego visiting the area. We're interested in places & things to do before we leave Friday evening. Any help would be appreciated!

Just a thought. You might want to visit Seaport Village and the Gaslamp area. These are down by the waterfront and have lots of shops, restaurants and beautiful views of San Diego Bay. The best bang for the buck is right up the street where they have the WWII aircraft carrier fully restored with all vintage aircraft on the flight deck. I think the tour is about $10 per person. Standing on the bow of the flight deck is another great look at the bay. Enjoy... It is a beautiful city and bay. Home to lots of pleasure craft and home to some of the biggest Nuclear Carriers in the Navy. Ross

In addition to the above, at the foot of Broadway, there are various harbor excursions. Depending on how much time you have, you can get a nice cruise of San Diego Bay. Have fun...

Ross and hattitude hit the bay's high spots. You could also rent a sailboat for the afternoon if you're so inclined. But, you live near water, so how about something you can't do at home? Drive your rental car up to the local mountains. They are only 25 miles or so to the top, very pretty granite and up to 8,000 feet elevation in pine forest. Not like the east coast one bit.

I'd invite you for a day's fishing but I'm hauling Ohana on friday..........I'll be a little busy this weekend.

I agree with the above as well. Seaforth boat rentals has runabouts and small sail boats if you want to get onto the bay. Coronado is nice...shops, etc and a nice beach. Water temp likely a shocker for you if you are used to FLA. La Jolla, just north, shops/beach/great ocean views. Also nice to Kayak at any of the above spots.
I think the Midway CV 41 is a must see. It is a great tour and peice of history. Neat to see her and the CVN 76 and 68 just accross the bay from each other, and think that she was recommissioned for action in the first gulf conflict.
I am fishing this weekend with a full boat, otherwise we could have gotten together for a harbor ride at least.
