Salon measurement request - 53MY

I need the floor dimensions of the salon for the standard 53MY. Actually, I need the dimensions of the portion from a line between the aft edge of the side doors to the aft doors but the dimensions of the entire salon is fine.

I'll be replacing the carpet in our salon, which covers the salon floor rearward from the aft edge of the side door jambs. The forward portion of the salon is Amtico and we have decided to do the rest of the salon to match. I'm going to order the Amtico to be sent to the marina/waiting for me when I return to the boat in the spring but I don't know the square footage.

If anyone has that info, I'd appreciate it.

Mike, from the pictures I have seen of your salon, I believe ours is identical (i.e. carpet from just aft of the sliding doors to the rear doors). Dimensions are: 10'3" across the salon (measured at aft end of door trim) x 11' long (to fwd end of threshold by double doors). Let me know if you need additional info.

We ordered it and the two-part adhesive direct from their US HQ in Atlanta (at the time, I don't know if that's still where they are located). I assume it is available from local suppliers but I don't know that for sure.

Were you able to source the Amtico flooring and have it sent to your marina as planned? If so and if you don't mind I'd like to get your source information as I'd like to do the same thing but haven't had much luck on the internet. I'd like to get the material before I take the boat north.

No, I've done nothing with that so far but, coincidence being what it is, I was planning to order the material in the next couple of days. I had been in contact with Amtico and they had sent me samples to match the existing amtico - the code number/name of the product(s) I used are no longer current so I had to see some samples to know what to order that would match since the new "wood" will be right next to the old wood.

I'll let you know re how this goes.

Did you get the samples directly from Amtico? Their site is well, not very good. I will be calling them Monday to get some insight. We will be replacing our floors in the hallway and heads at least in our 52 convertible.

Yes, I got the samples (6) directly from Amtico using their "contact us" email. They were very prompt but I agree the website is not very good…

I took a break from some car work Ive been doing over the past two days and ALMOST ripped up the salon carpet in prep for the added amtico but common sense took over and I decided to wait until I actually HAVE the amtico and it really does match before I turn the boat into an unusable disaster area.

When you get your samples, I'd be interested in the part numbers, as I can't even find this type of flooring with the wide and narrow strips on the Amtico site. I'm looking to do the three heads and galley.

The amtico numbers that match what I put down in '05 are Teak - AROW6690, unleveled, and White Oak - AROW7520 in 1/4" strips. Those match what I put down in 2005 though the numbers are different. Back then the holly look was "warm beech" but they no longer list it. The white oak is close enough. You have to tell them you want the white oak in 1/4" strips and be sure to tell them the teak is to be UNbeveled.
