  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
53' MOTOR YACHT (1969 - 1988)
Last Saturday at South Shore Harbour Marina in League City, Texas ( Clear Lake/Galveston Bay) a Hatteras burnt taking two adjacent boats with it. Luckily no reports of injuries. Believe this is the same boat pictured on the hard previously. Sad ending

Ouch. Somebody's dream project now gone.

Let us know if they find out the cause.

I would like more info as well. That boat has stabilizers and if that part did not get too hot I would be interested:cool:

I'm not aware of any place to haul a boat at South Shore Harbour.

Was the boat in the water when it burned and then moved to the hard elsewhere?

Hi All,

I'm not sure the images are of the same boat.

The damaged boat looks as if it had a radar arch, and it's rudders look to be shaped differently than the project boat.

The aft splash rails don't look to be positioned the same height as well.

Tragic regardless, i'll say it again, fire onboard is my biggest fear.

It looks like the same boat to me. That hardtop extension is quite unique. I doubt two of them are the out there like that.

3 transom windows on one, two on the other. not the same boat in my view

The boat was in the water at time of fire. Towed to South Texas Yard in Watergate Marina. There are three transon windows on the burnt boat but can't see third due to angle of shot. Will post info about salvage if available.

Doesn't look like there's much to salvage, unfortunately.

What started the fire?

Nice to see that Blow Boater giving way to a vessel in tow.
