Is there a cure for rusty water from the water heater? I get some after the water sits in there for awhile, also from the Galley Maid water pump.

You have a dump valve on the H2O heater? If so, turn the breaker off, shut the water off, dump the tank into the bilge. Or keep the water on and bleed the water off until it runs clear from the dump valve. Turn the water and breaker back on so you have hot water for the next shower...

I'll look for iron fittings but I don't think I have any.

I had the same problem occur when I fired up an old Galley Maid water pump I just bought. Testing it in the cockpit flushed rusty water out. If there’s rust forming on the surfaces of the pump or tank housings, how can ya’ get rid of it.

I don't think you can without actually replacing the rusting pieces.
